Location: South Birmingham Start Date: Immediate / ASAP Contract: Full-time | Long-term (potential for permanent placement)About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs-such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs or learning difficulties-helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Your key responsibilities will include:*Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEN
*Using tailored strategies to remove learning barriers
*Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
*Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
*Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
*Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
*Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For*Experience supporting children with SEN (school or care setting)
*A calm, nurturing and adaptable approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Reliability and a genuine passion for inclusive education
*An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
*Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) is beneficial but not essential
