The Business
Barclay Roofing is a specialist contractor with nearly 40 years of experience delivering roofing projects across the North East and North Yorkshire.
They are Teesside through and through - built locally, grown locally and proud of their regional reputation.
Managing Director Esme Flounders leads the business alongside an experienced leadership team as the company continues to evolve.

The finance team you’ll lead are experienced and know the business inside out, giving you a strong foundation to build on
What’s in it for you?
This is an opportunity to step into a key role within the business, taking ownership of the finance function and working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team.
You will produce the monthly management accounts, provide meaningful financial insight and help shape decisions across the company.
You will also manage a small, experienced finance team, while being supported by a part-time Finance Director who eventually plans to hand over the reigns - to the right candidate.
For someone with ambition, there is genuine long-term opportunity to grow with the business, develop the role further and become an increasingly influential part of the leadership team.
Systems & Reporting
If you enjoy the technical side of finance, this role will give you plenty to get stuck into.
The business uses Sage alongside a CIS costing system, with reporting heavily supported by Excel and spreadsheet-based analysis.
You will be someone who:
*Is extremely confident using Excel
*Is comfortable working across finance systems and data
*Enjoys improving reporting and processes
Candidates may come from practice or industry, but must be comfortable working in a hands-on SME environment.


Key Responsibilities
*Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
* Managing and supporting a small experienced finance team
* Working closely with the Managing Director and part-time FD
* Driving process improvements and reporting enhancements
* Supporting operational and strategic decision-making across the business
* Managing year-end and liaising with external accountants and auditors
