We are looking for a proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing finance team and play a key role in enhancing and modernising the accounts payable function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, challenging the status quo, and driving efficiencies across financial operations.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the AP cycle while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and support the wider finance team.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and payments
*Ensure invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries
*Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
*Monitor and manage the AP inbox and workflow approvals
*Support weekly and monthly payment runs
*Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
*Review and improve existing AP processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and automation
*Work closely with the finance team to enhance internal controls and reporting
*Contribute ideas to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role
*Strong understanding of the accounts payable lifecycle
*Experience working with finance systems/ERP platforms
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*Ability to identify process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working
*Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the business
*Proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the norm and suggest improvements
Desirable
*Experience working in a high-volume invoice environment
*Exposure to process improvement, automation, or system implementation
*Intermediate Excel skills
