Job Description:
Schoolblazer has brought genuine product flair and innovation to the school uniform market. Alongside our core brand, our sister sportswear label Limitless has developed an exciting range of sports and teamwear designed to encourage every child to enjoy being active.
Founded in 2004, Schoolblazer pioneered a new approach to schoolwear. Unlike traditional uniform providers, we design and develop our own ranges in-house and source directly from our global manufacturing partners. This approach has enabled us to grow rapidly and establish a 30%+ market share in the premium schoolwear sector.
We are known for combining excellent customer service with stylish, innovative product design.
We are now looking for an Assistant Designer to join our in-house design team.
This role would suit a graduate or someone starting out in their early career who is interested in design. Be part of a company that will help shape your future.
The Role
You will work closely with our Designer and Business Development Director, supporting the development of school uniform and sportswear collections and helping bring new ideas and designs to life. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to gain experience across garment design, sportswear graphics, marketing materials and product development.
Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting the design team in developing new uniform and sportswear concepts
*Creating CAD visuals to present garment ideas to schools
*Assisting with garment technical drawings and factory CADs
*Working with the Buying Team and schools to interpret design briefs
*Supporting the Marketing Team with design work including social media graphics, posters, templates and promotional materials
*Helping to develop sportswear prints and graphics, including sublimation designs
*Preparing mood boards and concept presentations
*Assisting with image editing and visual assets for the website
*Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a busy environment
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with creative flair, a strong eye for detail, and enthusiasm for learning. You may be starting out in your early career and keen to develop your skills in a supportive environment or looking for a new opportunity within the design sector. Whether you are a graduate or don’t have a degree, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideally you will have:
*Basic experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
*A strong interest in garment design, colour and fabric
*Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
*A positive attitude and willingness to learn
*Strong attention to detail
*The confidence to share ideas and contribute creatively
*The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Training will be provided to develop your skills in areas such as:
*Garment CAD creation
*Sportswear graphic and sublimation design
*Presentation and mood-board creation
*Preparing production-ready artwork
*AI and 3D in house training
Our Values
Our culture is built around a clear set of values:
*We make it easy for our customers
*We deliver on our promises
*We innovate and learn
*We find solutions
*We are one team
We are a people-driven, entrepreneurial business, and we value attitude, creativity and curiosity as highly as experience.
Location & Working Pattern
Our Head Office is located in Oundle. The standard working hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Benefits

*Plus bank holidays
