Job Description:
Role: Finance Manager
Location: Essex (Upminster)
Contract: 9-12 month FTC
The Finance Manager will support the Group Financial Controller in overseeing day-to-day finance operations, managing one direct report, and taking ownership of the full AP/AR cycle. You will also play a key role in post-acquisition integration, process improvement, and building a scalable finance function that can support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Controls
*Take full ownership of month end reporting
*Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
*Ensure timely processing, reconciliations, and resolution of queries
*Strengthen financial controls and maintain high-quality financial data
Financial Reporting & Month-End
*Support the Group Financial Controller with month-end close and management accounts
*Assist with consolidated reporting and analysis
*Drive improvements across reporting, processes, and systems
Post-Acquisition Integration
*Play a key role in post-integration activity for newly acquired businesses, supporting the Group Financial Controller
*Embed consistent processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
*Work closely with operational and acquisition teams to ensure smooth onboarding
Business Support & Continuous Improvement
*Provide analysis and insight to support decision-making
*Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial visibility
*Contribute to building a scalable finance function aligned with PE expectations
Skills & Experience Required
*Experience managing and developing a team (even small teams)
*Strong background in finance operations, including AP/AR ownership
*Experience in a services environment or similar (preferred)
*Strong understanding of financial controls and process improvement
*Part or Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or simmilar)
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
