Job Title: Import / Export Coordinator

Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire - Office based role
Salary Guide: circa.£32-36k (DOE) with benefits
The RoleOur client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution business, is seeking a detail-oriented Import / Export Customs Coordinator to manage international shipments and ensure full compliance with customs regulations and trade laws.
This hands-on role involves coordinating cross-border logistics, maintaining precise documentation, and working closely with freight partners to guarantee timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities*Coordinate and oversee the scheduling of international shipments.
*Liaise effectively with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers to track shipments and resolve transport-related issues.
*Prepare, verify, and manage essential shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and export declarations.
*Ensure adherence to all customs regulations, Incoterms, and international trade agreements, maintaining meticulous records for audit purposes.
*Monitor changes in import/export legislation, tariffs, and restrictions to keep processes up to date and compliant.
*Maintain accurate shipment tracking data within internal systems, reconciling documents against purchase orders and inventory records.
*Support cost management by assisting with freight invoicing and financial reporting.
*Act as the main contact point for internal teams and external partners regarding shipment statuses and documentation requirements.
*Collaborate across procurement, warehouse, finance, and sales departments to facilitate smooth business operations.

*Demonstrable experience in import/export coordination, logistics, or freight forwarding.
*Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, customs compliance, and Incoterms.
*Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines concurrently.
*Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with logistics or ERP software.
*Effective communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
