You will be joining a well-established engineering and project-based organisation operating across the Devon area, specialising in technical and infrastructure-focused services. The finance team plays a key role in supporting project delivery, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and clear commercial insight for operational managers and senior leadership. This is a hands-on environment where collaboration, accountability and attention to detail are highly valued.

Your new role
As the Management Accountant, you will support the Finance Manager/Financial Controller in delivering timely and accurate management accounts, project reporting and financial analysis. You will take ownership of key month-end processes including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, cost allocations and variance analysis.You will work closely with project teams to monitor performance against budget, track WIP, review forecasts and support commercial decisions. The role also involves maintaining the fixed asset register, assisting with year-end/audit preparation, reviewing financial controls and supporting continual improvements in processes and systems.This is a varied role with both operational and analytical responsibilities and offers excellent exposure across the wider business.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Experience in management accounting within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or other project-based industries.
*Strong month-end skills including journals, reconciliations, reporting packs and variance analysis.
*Confident partnering with operational and non-finance colleagues.
*Good systems’ exposure
*Excellent Excel and data-handling capabilities.
*Fully Qualified or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent experience.
*A proactive attitude, strong organisational skills and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
