Quality Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £40k - £45k per annum
Shift: Full time Monday - Friday
About the Company
Our client is a leading Tier 2 aerospace manufacturer specialising in plasma coating, paint and machining for major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet regulatory, customer and company quality requirements. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives, manages non-conformances and ensures compliance with AS9100 and customer specifications.
*Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards
*Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances
*Support First Article Inspection activities in line with AS9102 requirements
*Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve quality concerns and drive improvement
*Support internal and external audits in line with AS9100 requirements
*Prepare and maintain quality documentation including inspection plans, control plans and quality reports
*Monitor key performance indicators and recommend improvements for quality metrics
*Participate in new product introduction projects to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production
*Work with production teams on quality standards and best practices
*Champion continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean and 8D problem solving
About You
*Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within the aerospace, automotive or precision engineering sector
*Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality management systems
*Familiarity with AS9102 FAI, PPAP, APQP and NADCAP processes is desirable
*Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving methodologies including 5 Why, 8D and FMEA
*Knowledge of aerospace materials, processes and standards
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficient in quality tools and systems such as Minitab, SPC, CMM and ERP or MRP systems
