Curriculum Support Officer - Secondary Schools, Northampton
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Options: Full-Time | Permanent | Flexible / Part-Time

Would you like to gain hands-on experience in a classroom while developing skills that support teaching and student progress?
A number of secondary schools in Northampton are seeking dedicated Curriculum Support Officers to join their teams from April 2026. This role is perfect for graduates, or individuals with experience supporting young people-such as teaching assistants, cover supervisors, learning mentors, youth workers, or school administrators-who are looking to grow a career in education.
The role offers a combination of classroom support and curriculum-focused responsibilities, allowing you to work closely with teaching and pastoral staff while gaining insight into school operations and student learning.
Key Responsibilities:*Assist teachers in delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4
*Support students’ engagement, understanding, and progress during lessons
*Prepare lesson materials and curriculum resources as needed
*Provide small-group or one-to-one support for students
*Help maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and curriculum data
*Collaborate with teaching staff, departments, and pastoral teams to support student outcomes
Ideal Candidate:*Experience working with children or young people in any setting
*Confident communicator with the ability to support learning in the classroom
*Organised, proactive, and professional
*Interested in education and supporting curriculum delivery
*Reliable, adaptable, and positive in approach
*Considering progression into teaching, pastoral, or education support roles
