Are you a qualified allied health professional looking for your next challenge? We’re working with a LA to recruit a Medical Advisor to join their Benefits & Homeless Prevention Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise to make a real difference in people’s lives, helping residents with health and disability needs secure safe and suitable housing.
What You’ll Be Doing:
*Deliver expert medical advice to support residents living in unsuitable accommodation.
*Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for priority rehousing.
*Advise on adaptations, equipment, and accessible housing solutions.
*Work closely with internal teams, social care professionals, and external partners to provide holistic support.
*Contribute to policy development and planning for accessible housing projects.
*Be a key part of the council’s innovative service, combining Benefits and Housing Needs functions.
Who We’re Looking For:
*Qualified healthcare professional (Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist, Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Specialist, Autism Specialist, or similar).
*Experience in assessment, care planning, and working with vulnerable adults or residents with disabilities.
*Strong understanding of the link between health and housing.
*Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and confident collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
*Commitment to equality, diversity, and high standards of customer care.
