Job Description:
*Job Title: EICR Electrical Inspection Engineer
*Location: Central London
*Contract: Permanent | Full-Time | 40hrs per week
*Salary: £50,000 per annum
About the RoleHays are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on behalf of our client, specialising in inspection, testing, and reporting across commercial and industrial properties. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and fixed wire testing, ensuring all work meets current industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct EICRs and fixed wire testing in commercial and industrial premises.
*Inspect, test, and verify electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671.
*Identify defects, deviations, and potential safety issues within electrical systems.
*Produce clear, accurate, and timely reports using industry-standard software.
*Carry out remedial works where required or support other engineers in delivering corrective tasks.
*Maintain high levels of health, safety, and compliance at all times.
*Communicate effectively with clients, site managers, and internal teams.
Requirements
*NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
*City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 or equivalent inspection and testing qualification.
*Strong knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations (18th Edition preferred).
*Proven experience conducting EICRs in commercial or industrial settings.
*Full UK driving licence.
*Excellent attention to detail and strong report-writing skills.
*Ability to work independently and handle multiple site visits.
Important InformationDue to the nature of this position, the post holder must be willing to undergo a Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. As a result, we are only able to accept applications from British or Naturalised British Citizens and you must be able to demonstrate a full UK working history covering at least 10 years.
