Are you an experienced Accounts Payable Manager, comfortable leading a team in a large company environment with excellent communication skills? Aila is exclusively partnered with a longstanding client of ours to recruit an AP Manager to lead a team of ~8 in a fantastic business and environment.

The Role:
The Accounts Payable Manager will manage a motivated, high performing team responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and loading of all invoices and credit notes onto the ledger, the allocation of all payments, the reconciliation of supplier statements to the ledger and the reconciliation of any associated Balance Sheet Control Accounts.


Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be required to manage and direct a team to ensure the accurate and timely payment of suppliers.


Responsibilities:
*Lead a high performing team, developing individuals to be the best they can be, ensuring errors are minimized and staff are motivated
*Plan and prioritise the teams’ work, ensuring all Invoices/Credit Notes are properly authorised by appropriate signatories within the business and paid on time.
*Support the team with any challenges, solving problems, encouraging the team to code and accurately post all Invoices/Credit Notes which are appropriately authorised
*Ensure all payments are correctly allocated, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled with supplier statements/payments
*Review the aged creditors to ensure that all balances are reasonable and accurate, engaging with other teams where they manage specific accounts
*Lead the development and implementation of efficiencies and improved controls
*Continuously develop the company’s employee expense system, reporting any deviation to policy to appropriate management, and claiming input VAT
*Liaise with third parties to improve the frequency and accuracy of the invoices provided
*Work with the Sales Ledger Manager and their team to improve efficiency and consistency of processing
*Identify and implement KPIs and reporting for the department to ensure accuracy and good controls
*Identify potential problems / issues and take appropriate action to mitigate risk.


The Ideal Candidate:
*Minimum 8 years’ experience in AP, with previous management experience
*Effective management, coaching and leadership skills
*Effective communication skills; both verbal and written with internal and external parties
*Demonstrable experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
*Consistently demonstrate a calm, balanced and professional approach
*Accustomed to processing in a high-volume environment
*Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and to work to deadlines.
*Ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy, highly numerate.
*Develops positive working relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
*Analytical and problem-solving skills.
