Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Assistant will support the Accounting & Finance department in processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This on going temporary position is ideal for a detail oriented individual with a solid understanding of accounts payable processes.

Description
*Accurately process supplier invoices, including matching them to purchase orders, applying correct VAT treatment, and preparing payments.
*Set up new suppliers and keep all supplier and customer information up to date and well maintained.
*Generate customer invoices, allocate incoming payments and support activities related to credit control.
*Handle bank receipts, petty cash, cash advances and company floats, ensuring everything is recorded correctly.
*Assist with insurance claims by maintaining accurate documentation and supporting the wider insurance processes.
*Produce regular reports such as aged debt analysis, supplier reconciliations and claims summaries.
*Deal with queries from colleagues, suppliers, customers and contractors promptly and professionally.
*Support the organisation in following financial policies, regulations and delegated authority limits.
*Contribute to improving and documenting transactional finance processes to enhance efficiency and value for money.
Profile
A successful Accounts Payable Assistant should have:
*Experience in accounts payable or a similar role within the Accounting & Finance sector.
*Understanding of debits and credits
*Understanding of nominal ledger
*Previous experience working in high volume environment
*Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
*Ability to use Excel spreadsheets
