Job Description:
An established Manchester law practice is seeking a talented Employment Law Solicitor to join its growing Employment Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Department on a varied and stimulating workload covering both contentious and non-contentious employment matters on both claimant and defendant matters.
The role involves providing practical, high-quality advice to business and private clients across a wide range of employment issues. Key responsibilities include drafting contracts, employee policies, and documents; managing grievance, disciplinary, and redundancy processes; handling discrimination claims; advising on TUPE regulations and whistleblowing matters; and representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings from pre-claim negotiations through to Settlement Agreements.
The successful candidate will also play a key role in business development, maintaining existing client relationships, expanding professional networks, delivering seminars, and introducing new work opportunities.
There will be scope to provide specialist support to other departments and to supervise or mentor trainee solicitors or paralegals.
The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years’ PQE or equivalent experience in employment law, a track record of delivering excellent client service, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure. An established client following is a significant advantage.
