JB489: Commercial Vehicle Technician
Location: Swindon
Salary: £42,500 per annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities for the Commercial Vehicle Technician:
*Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz trucks.
*Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
*Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
*Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
*Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
*Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
*Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
*Complete customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
Skills and Qualifications for the Commercial Vehicle Technician:
*You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV and/or LCV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus, will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn & faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
*A resilient person is someone who has strong coping skills and can draw on these when life presents challenges.
*To ensure personal and team success, being motivated is essential and is a key part of your role and it is part of being a brilliant team player.
*Precision in diagnosing issues and conducting repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards.
*Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within timeframes to meet customer demands and maintain workshop efficiency.
