Description
Acting as a senior strategic advisor, you will collaborate with operational leaders and partner with stakeholders at C-suite level to challenge traditional thinking, stimulate debate, and unlock sustainable value creation. You will also act as a cross-functional innovation lead, strengthening customer relationships and positively shifting market perceptions.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead and mentor high-performing teams across strategy and innovation (3-8 direct reports)
*Drive commercial innovation across the business using creative, disruptive, and future-focused thinking
*Manage major strategic projects and ensure alignment with the wider commercial strategy
*Build trusted partnerships with customers and senior leaders
*Identify commercial and environmental innovation opportunities, creating new value propositions
*Support Net Zero and decarbonisation initiatives for both the organisation and customers
*Develop sustainability-led commercial offerings
*Collaborate with academic and research partners to advance insight and capability
*Champion our organisational values and mission across the industry


Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
*Experienced leader within the waste, environmental, or related sectors
*Proven track record managing cross-functional, high-performing teams
*Strong strategic thinker with the ability to embed and execute long-term plans
*Influential communicator with experience engaging senior leadership
*Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
*High commercial acumen and the ability to work autonomously
*Excellent analytical skills and long-term strategic insight
*Strong understanding of ecological transformation
*IOSH Managing Safely certification
*Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent experience
*Relevant degree
*Knowledge of PRINCE2 or similar project management methodologies
*Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methods
