Job Description:
Account Manager – Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
Location: Home-based – England or Wales
Salary: £50-55K plus uncapped bonus, company car and excellent benefits package
About the Company
Our client is a leading player in the Digital Industries space, driving innovation across the automation and smart manufacturing landscape. With a strong foothold in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), their solutions empower global and regional businesses to transform operations, improve efficiency, and meet future demands.
They partner with the top 20% of food and beverage clients – including global giants such as Unilever and AB InBev, as well as regional leaders like Müller Milk & Ingredients and Princes Drinks to deliver tailored solutions that align with strategic goals.
Due to sustained growth, we are now seeking an Account Manager to join their dynamic, high-performing team.
Key Requirements
We are seeking an upbeat, motivated, and commercially savvy individual who can engage senior-level stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor. You will have ownership of a defined set of 5–15 CPG accounts and be responsible for deepening relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping clients navigate strategic transformation.
Essential attributes:
*Proven experience in account management and stakeholder engagement at C-suite level
*Ability to understand and articulate the strategic challenges facing CPG manufacturers
*Strong commercial acumen with a focus on growth within existing accounts
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to build rapport, influence, and present with credibility
*Self-motivated, energetic, and eager to research industry trends and stay informed on sector developments
Desirable but not essential:
*Background in food & beverage, CPG, or industrial automation
*Familiarity with account portfolios such as Unilever, Müller, AB InBev, etc.
Note: While technical knowledge is helpful, it is not required – you will be supported by a wider team including technical support managers, product specialists, and a marketing executive focused on food & beverage.
Role & Responsibilities
This is a UK national role focused on managing and growing assigned accounts within the CPG sector. While new business is welcome, the emphasis is on long-term development of existing relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a defined portfolio of 5–15 key CPG accounts
*Developing and executing strategic account plans
*Driving revenue growth by identifying and converting upsell/cross-sell opportunities
*Building and nurturing long-term, senior-level relationships
*Understanding customer business goals and advising on how digital solutions can support them
*Collaborating with technical experts, product specialists, and marketing to deliver value
*Attending face-to-face client meetings across England and Wales, with occasional overnight stays
*Participating in bi-monthly team meetups and occasional training days
*Communicating regularly via WhatsApp, Teams, and in-person sessions
You will be expected to proactively research CPG sector trends and play back insights to customers, helping shape their transformation journey and reinforcing your value as a strategic partner.
What’s on Offer
*Uncapped bonus structure designed to reward overachievement
*Company car provided
*Pension contributions up to 10% of salary – including on bonus earnings
*Flexible benefits package including private health, dental, gym, cycle to work, and more
*26 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell 5 additional days
*Hybrid field-based working (approx. 60% travel, 40% home)
*Structured onboarding programme (7–14 days) including visits to Manchester HQ and key internal stakeholders
Interview Process
*Stage 1: 1-hour Microsoft Teams interview
*Stage 2: Face-to-face in Manchester (near the airport), with opportunity to meet the wider team
