Job Description:
Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys shaping financial processes and supporting strong governance? Do you feel confident guiding colleagues and presenting financial insight to senior stakeholders? Signature Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager role within a respected London-based learned society.
This part time permanent role offers a salary of £50,000 – £53,000 FTE. The salary is approximately £27,000 pro rata for 2.5 days per week. The organisation operates hybrid working with one day in the central London office each Wednesday. Flexible working arrangements are available across the remaining days.
You will join an established and purpose-driven organisation with an active membership community. The organisation delivers events, publications, conferences, and research initiatives. The role offers close collaboration with senior leadership and governance committees. You will work within a supportive and collaborative team environment. The position also offers involvement in financial planning and organisational development.
In this role, you will lead the organisation’s full finance function. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations and maintain strong financial controls. The role includes committee reporting, budgeting, and financial planning. Your work will support strong financial governance across the organisation. You will also contribute to future organisational priorities.
Finance Manager - Key Responsibilities:*Manage day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping, invoices, payroll, VAT, and reconciliations
*Maintain accurate financial records in Sage and monitor organisational bank accounts
*Prepare annual budgets alongside senior leadership and support financial planning discussions
*Coordinate annual accounts, audits, and submissions to the Charity Commission
*Produce financial reports and present financial information for council and committee meetings
*Oversee financial aspects of grants, investments, and property-related financial activity
Finance Manager - Key Skills:*Proven experience managing a full finance function
*Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
*Experience using accounting systems such as Sage or similar
*Strong organisational skills with excellent financial accuracy
