Newstaff Employment Services is looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our Meals on Wheels program. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering nutritious meals to individuals in the community, ensuring they receive the sustenance they need to maintain their health and well-being. This position is perfect for those who are passionate about community service and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
As a Meals on Wheels delivery driver, you will not only transport meals but also interact with the recipients, providing a friendly face and companionship. Your role is vital in supporting individuals who may have trouble accessing food due to mobility issues or other circumstances.
Responsibilities *Deliver meals to clients’ homes on a scheduled route.
*Provide excellent customer service through friendly interactions with meal recipients.
*Assist with meal preparation and packaging as needed.
*Maintain accurate records of deliveries and report any issues or changes in clients’ circumstances to the coordinator.
*Ensure that all meals are delivered in a safe and timely manner, adhering to health and safety standards.
*Participate in community engagement initiatives related to the Meals on Wheels program.
Requirements
*Valid UK driving license
*Previous experience in a driving or customer service role is desirable.
*Compassionate and friendly demeanor with a commitment to helping others.
*Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a delivery schedule.
*Willingness to adhere to health and safety guidelines.
*Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
*Must have a valid DBS certificate (doesn’t have to be enhanced)
Benefits
Mainly working weekends 11am till 2pm 4 hours paid per shift.
£14.50 p/h Saturday Sundays and bank holidays £13.50 Monday to Friday.
