Job Description:
Social Worker (Locum) - Work After First Hearing Team - Cafcass- London.
Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) is a statutory public body dedicated to promoting the welfare of children involved in family court proceedings.
Their Work After First Hearing (WAFH) Team supports children and families in both public law and private law cases, ensuring the child’s voice is at the heart of all decisions.
The Role
Cafcass are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join their WAFH Team on a locum basis.
In this role, you will:
Manage cases post-first hearing, including public law (care and supervision proceedings) and private law (child arrangements).
Conduct assessments, home visits, and interviews with children and families.
Prepare reports and recommendations for the family court.
Work collaboratively with Cafcass colleagues, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the child’s welfare is prioritised.
Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records in line with statutory requirements.
Who They Are Looking For
Registered Social Worker (England) with current HCPC registration.
Experience in public law and/or private law family cases preferred.
Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining effective teamwork.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a dynamic case load.
