Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST5 OR Crewe, CW2
Salary: £33,500 per year + £50 per sleep-in
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: 2 days on, sleep-in between shifts, followed by 4 days off
We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a small, Ofsted-approved children’s home. The home supports young people within a 3–4 bed residential setting, providing a stable, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can feel safe and develop positive life skills.
This role is ideal for an experienced Residential Support Worker who is ready to step into a senior role with additional responsibility, supporting both the young people and the staff team on shift.
Requirements
*Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle
*Must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Residential Childcare
*Previous experience working within a children’s residential home
*Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
*Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff members
Responsibilities
*Supporting young people with their daily routines, education, and independence skills
*Leading shifts and ensuring the home operates smoothly
*Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
*Contributing to care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports
*Ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
*Working closely with external professionals, families, and social workers
