Science Technician - Full-Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Lewisham
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Lewisham on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school laboratory experience who is passionate about supporting science education and helping create engaging, practical learning experiences for students. The Role
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Science Department by preparing and maintaining equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparing, setting up, and clearing away laboratory equipment for science lessons

*Supporting teachers and students during practical experiments where required

*Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring resources are stored safely and correctly

*Managing stock levels and ordering laboratory supplies

*Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the laboratories

*Assisting with the organisation of practical assessments and demonstrations

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and confident working within a busy science department.
The successful candidate will have:
*Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school laboratory

*Strong knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratory practices

*A degree in a Science-related subject (preferred but not essential)

*A strong understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures

*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

*The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
