The candidate will be responsible for leading the end-to-end month end process for their business area which includes journals, balance sheets and month end reporting as well as leading the quarterly forecast process and various ad hoc reports and supporting initiatives to drive value for money.

Management Accounts:
*Review the monthly management accounts for the relevant areas of responsibility and prepare variance analysis, including relevant commentary.
*Review and sense check identified trends and business reasons supporting under/over performance and consider the impact on long term financial performance within the relevant business area.
*Presentation of key financial information to the Senior Finance team, functional directors and Commercial Finance Director.
*Challenging stakeholders to understand variations to agreed budgets and / or forecasts to ensure continued financial compliance, aligned to the business strategy.
*Present financial information to influence business decisions, whether driven by business need or financial constraints.
*Regular review of processes and controls to ensure continued financial compliance including performing analysis and reconciliation of data exchanged between relevant systems.
*Carry out investment appraisal and other diligence work to ensure business decisions are aligned to the corporate strategy and deliver value for money.
Budgets:
*Completion of the budget for the area of responsibility.
*Production of budget reports for area of responsibility
*Design, delivery and development of budget holder training.
Forecasting:
*Complete the monthly forecasting process for the area of responsibility
General:
*Develop project budget holders financial understanding, enhancing their own budget management skills.
*Maintain strong links with the wider Finance function providing constructive feedback and advice to support the delivery of the Finance strategy.
*Any additional duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the role.
Profile
Finalist, newly qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).


Previous experience of working within a management accounts or commercial finance function coupled with hands-on preparation of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, report writing and the ability to partner effectively with key stakeholders and build professional working relationships.
