Primary Teacher - Year 5 (Part-Time, Long-Term) - Canterbury
Contract Type: Part-time, Long-term
Start Date: Easter 2026 - End of the Academic Year
Working Pattern: 3 days per week
The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Primary Teacher to join a welcoming school in Canterbury from Easter until the end of the academic year. This is a long-term role with full teaching responsibilities, ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the class and play a key role in supporting pupils through an important stage of their learning.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 5.
*Take full class teacher responsibilities, including lesson planning, assessment, and reporting.
*Prepare and write end-of-term reports.
*Attend and contribute to parents’ evenings.
*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
*Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development.
*Participate in relevant school meetings and professional development.
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*Experience teaching in Key Stage 2.
*Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
*Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
*Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage pupils.
