Assistant Market Officer
Location: Various Market Sites Across Kirklees
Pay: £13.05 PAYE / £16.86 Umbrella
We are seeking an Assistant Market Officer to provide operational support across multiple markets in Kirklees. This role involves ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for traders and the public. The position requires flexibility to work on a 7-day rota, with shifts between 6am and 7pm.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Erect and dismantle market stalls safely and efficiently.
*Manage the opening and closing of market buildings, including alarm systems.
*Support various market events and ensure all facilities are maintained to high standards.
*Provide excellent customer service to both traders and visitors.
*Conduct heavy-duty cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
*Adhere to health and safety protocols and participate in mandatory health screenings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a similar role within a market or outdoor event setting is desirable.
*Strong ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting.
*Excellent customer service and communication skills.
*Must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to early start times and travel requirements between sites.
*Basic maintenance skills and the ability to handle cleaning and manual tasks in all weather conditions.
