Role Overview
The Service Manager for Fostering and Permanency will lead and manage fostering, kinship care, and SGO services to ensure stable, long-term placements for children. You’ll oversee operational management, quality assurance, and staff development while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks. This role also involves managing budgets and working with external partners to drive service improvements.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the fostering, kinship care, and permanency teams, ensuring high standards of practice and compliance.
*Oversee recruitment, assessment, and retention of foster and kinship carers.
*Ensure quality assurance processes are in place, including preparation for Ofsted inspections and audits.
*Manage service budgets and performance indicators, ensuring value for money and effective financial planning.
*Work in partnership with other boroughs and external agencies to deliver effective service provision.


Essential Criteria
*Social work qualification and experience in statutory social work management.
*Strong leadership skills with a track record in fostering and permanency services.
*Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, and fostering regulations.
*Experience managing budgets and leading quality assurance processes.
*Ability to work under pressure, make complex decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
