Service Charge Analyst (Data & Insights)
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid
We’re looking for a highly analytical Service Charge Analyst to join our team and help ensure service charges are accurate, transparent, and data-driven.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and data analysis. Using strong Excel and analytical skills, you’ll review service charge data, identify trends, and improve reporting to support better decision-making across the organisation.
Working with finance, housing, asset management, and operational teams, you’ll help ensure service charges are calculated accurately, costs are allocated correctly, and processes continue to improve.
What you’ll be doing
*Analysing and calculating estimated and actualised service charges, ensuring compliance with legislation, contractual agreements, and internal policies.
*Using advanced Excel and data analysis to review service charge data, identify anomalies, and improve reporting.
*Producing financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
*Supporting the accurate allocation of costs and ensuring recoverability of service chargeable expenditure.
*Managing complex service charge queries and providing analytical support to resolve disputes and complaints.
*Partnering with budget holders and service managers to improve cost transparency and expenditure analysis.
*Supporting improvements to reporting, systems, and data quality as part of wider service charge transformation work.
*Identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate reporting, and strengthen data accuracy.
What you’ll need
*Experience in service charge analysis, finance, or data-focused roles within housing, property, or a related sector.
*Strong Excel skills, including working with large datasets and complex financial data.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
*Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
*Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
*A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and data quality.
