Job Description:
Finance Manager - Stonehouse, Scotland
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing international business and play a key role within its finance leadership team. This position offers the chance to work across UK, French and North American entities while helping shape and strengthen the finance function.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role combines hands-on financial management with leadership responsibilities. You will oversee a small finance team while leading the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting and providing high-quality insight to senior stakeholders across the business.
A key part of the role is managing the month-end process. You will prepare monthly management accounts across multiple international entities, ensure results are uploaded accurately and on time into the consolidation system, and complete balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard. You will also provide clear financial reporting and analysis to support leadership teams in their decision making.
You will manage and support a team responsible for Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Cashbook activities. Developing the team, maintaining strong processes and building effective relationships across the wider business will be essential to ensure clear communication and strong financial control.
The position also involves coordinating payroll for international employees and working closely with external accountants in France and the United States to support year-end financial statements, audits and statutory reporting. You will liaise with auditors and ensure the organisation remains compliant with all financial and statutory requirements.
In addition, you will oversee the third-party purchase control system, ensuring approval limits and access rights align with the organisation’s governance framework. You will also participate in mid-year and year-end stock takes, helping maintain accurate inventory reporting and controls.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, or working towards qualification, with experience operating at Finance Manager level. You will have strong financial reporting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment, and be comfortable working within a complex or international organisation.
Strong Excel and financial systems experience is essential, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. Just as importantly, you will be confident communicating financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business.
The role offers a competitive benefits package including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension contributions matched up to 8%, life assurance at three times salary, private healthcare and a company sharesave scheme.
