Job Description:
I am currently looking to recruit an experienced HR Redeployment Advisor to join the Greater London Authority on an initial three-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a meaningful role in supporting GLA colleagues whose positions are affected by organisational change, while ensuring the GLA continues to secure the very best internal talent.
In this role, you will be central to managing the internal redeployment process - acting as a trusted adviser to employees at risk of redundancy, those facing capability or health-related challenges, and the managers who support them. You will help individuals navigate their next steps, while ensuring consistent, fair and policy-compliant decision-making across the organisation.
Contract: 3-months contract
Location: City Hall (Canning Town or Royal Victoria) – Hybrid work / 2 days in the office and 3 days from home
Pay rate: £28.42 per hour via PAYE or £37 per hour via Umbrella
What you’ll be doing
*Case Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on the redeployment register, guiding them through each stage of the process. This includes supporting them with skills forms, CV preparation, and interview readiness.
*Matching Talent to Opportunities: Review internal vacancies and assess their suitability against the skills, experience, and qualifications of at-risk employees, ensuring fair and proactive matching.
*Providing Expert Advice: Offer clear, professional guidance to line managers on redeployment processes, policy interpretation, and relevant employment legislation.
*Maintaining Accurate Records: Keep the Redeployment Register fully up to date, ensuring all case information meets internal standards and GDPR requirements.
*Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with HR Business Partners, union representatives, Occupational Health, and hiring managers to progress complex or sensitive cases.
What we’re looking for
*Strong experience within a Human Resources function, ideally within recruitment, employee relations, or organisational change.
*A background in managing high-volume casework or redeployment/redundancy processes.
*Demonstrated ability to advise and influence managers on policy matters.
*Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence and empathy to manage challenging or sensitive conversations.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with HR Information Systems (such as SAP).
*The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
If you’re an experienced HR or recruitment professional who thrives in a people-focused, purpose-led environment, this is a great opportunity to make a tangible difference within the GLA.
