Accountant required to join a busy Finance Department at a well-established, specialist organisation based in Kettering, Northants. This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours a week.
Reporting to the Financial Controller the successful candidate will provide financial and accounting support and advice to the UK and overseas based finance teams and other business areas. Full training will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparation of the management accounts and finance
*Assisting in year-end audit, providing documentation and answering auditors’ questions
*Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations
*Responsible for VAT reporting
*Responsible for supporting monthly and annual stocktake
*Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register
*Analysis and reporting
*Standard costing for Test Equipment products
*Set up on new customer accounts
*Sales invoicing for Irish entity
*Processing expense claims and credit card statements
*Maintaining foreign currency petty cash
*Processing monthly payroll
Applications are invited from candidates with the following background / experience:
*Ideally AAT qualified, part qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
*Proven all-round accounts department experience including involvement in the production of monthly management accounts
*Good communication skills
*Meticulous attention to detail
*Influencing / persuasion skills
*Capable of developing others in order to strengthen the overall departmental skills matrix
*Capable of producing / working with intermediate level Excel spreadsheets
Desirable:
*Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central and Customer Engagement systems
*An understanding of the consolidation of accounts
*Payroll experience
