Quantitative Developer - Python | Production Engineering & Observability
We’re supporting a leading global quantitative trading firm looking to hire a Python-focused Production Engineer to strengthen the observability, stability, and operational automation behind their live trading systems. This role sits at the core of production reliability and real-time system insight.
Role Overview
*Own and evolve the production observability stack: metrics pipelines, logging systems, distributed tracing, alerting
*Build automation for deployment, monitoring, incident handling, and operational workflows
*Improve runtime reliability, system health, latency monitoring, and fault detection across distributed trading systems
*Instrument production services for deeper visibility, debuggability, and performance insight
*Collaborate with researchers, developers, and platform teams to ensure smooth, stable production operations
Requirements
*3-12 years’ Python experience in production environments
*Strong CS fundamentals (concurrency, networking, system design)
*Deep Linux/Unix experience, including low-level debugging and performance tooling
*Proven ability to build reliable, observable, highly available distributed systems
*Bonus: experience with low-latency pipelines, market data, exchange protocols, or SRE principles
