Job Description:
Job Title: School Cleaner (Primary School)
Location: Primary School Site
Hours: Variable – Morning or Evening Shifts Available
Job Purpose:
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors by carrying out a range of cleaning duties across the primary school premises.
Key Responsibilities:
*Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, and shared areas.
*Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
*Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school procedures.
*Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and washroom areas.
*Wipe and sanitise desks, tables, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces.
*Clean windows, glass panels, and internal doors where required.
*Refill cleaning supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll.
*Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
*Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns to the Site Manager.
*Follow school safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control procedures at all times.
Working Hours:
*Hours may vary depending on school needs.
*Shifts may include:
*Early morning shifts (before school opening)
*Evening shifts (after school closing) Flexibility may be required during school events or holiday periods.
Person Specification:
Essential:
*Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good attention to detail.
*Ability to follow cleaning and safety procedures.
Desirable:
*Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial environment preferred).
*Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.Additional Information:
*An enhanced DBS check may be required due to working within a school environment.
*Full training and cleaning equipment will be provided.
