SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Camden)
£95 per day | Full-Time | Immediate Start
A welcoming and well-regarded 2-form entry primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team immediately.
The school has been graded Good by Ofsted and is known for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership, and commitment to supporting every child to achieve their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
The Role
This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm) starting immediately and running until July, with the potential to continue into a full-time role from September for the academic year.
You will work closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, supporting them both in and out of the classroom.
Daily Rate: £95 per day reviewed after 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
*Support pupils in managing emotions and behaviour positively
*Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and support plans
*Help create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
*Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a versatile and resilient Teaching Assistant who:
*Has previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
*Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
*Is calm, patient, and consistent in their approach
*Works well as part of a team and can use their own initiative
*Is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs to succeed
