Art Teacher | Burnley Alternative ProvisionLocation: Burnley, Lancashire (BB10/BB11)
Salary: from £168.89 per day - £261.71 per day (Paid to Scale / Competitive Daily Rate)
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time considered
Candidate Type: Qualified (QTS/QTLS) or Unqualified with Industry Experience
Unleash Creativity Where It Matters MostAre you an Art Teacher who believes that self-expression is a turning point for young people? We are looking for an inspiring individual to lead Art sessions at our Burnley Alternative Provision.
This isn’t your typical school setting. Our students have often faced barriers to learning in mainstream environments, and we use Art as a vital tool for re-engagement, confidence-building, and therapeutic success. Whether you are a fully qualified teacher or an unqualified artist with a passion for mentoring youth, your talent can change lives here.
The Role in BurnleyIn this role, you will move beyond rigid curriculum constraints to deliver Art in a way that truly resonates with students aged 11 - 16 years old.
*Creative Freedom: Develop schemes of work that include street art, digital media, traditional fine art, and sculpture.
*Small Class Sizes: Work with small groups to provide the 1-to-1 attention our learners need to thrive.
*Alternative Approach: Focus on progress, engagement, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support rather than just high-stakes testing.
*Burnley Community: Join a team dedicated to supporting the local youth of Burnley and the surrounding Lancashire area.
What We Are Looking For*Artistic Expertise: A strong portfolio or background in Art & Design.
*The Right Mindset: You are resilient, patient, and able to build rapport with "hard-to-reach" teenagers.
*Adaptability: You can pivot your lesson plan when a student needs extra emotional support.
*Experience (Optional): Previous work in an AP, PRU, or SEN setting is a bonus, but we prioritise character and craft above all else.
