Role: Assistant Accountant (Account Receivable/Revenue Recognition)
Location: Hampstead, North London
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, hybrid working

About you:
This role requires a highly organised person who has several years of accounts receivable experience and can support month-end reporting and assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts. The role will primarily provide first-hand support to the Finance Manager, with month-end customer analysis, income reconciliation, as well as providing support for the whole finance team to aid the effective running of the department.
About the role:
As part of a small but supportive team, the successful Assistant Accountant will have a range of responsibilities across accounts receivable and income reconciliation analysis. This will involve calculating invoices, matching receipts with outstanding invoicing, communicating with clients, reconciling bank accounts, preparing income return. The role also requires close communication with our Account Management and Sales team through a monthly analysis of unbilled labour and expenses, which support the income reconciliation process.
Assistant Accountant responsibilities to include:
*Preparation of monthly income returns for key clients, income is received from various sources and accuracy and timeliness is of paramount importance
*Raising and issuing sales invoices based on contractual terms and ensuring the correct allocation of cash receipts to individual cash centers.
*Researching and investigating discrepancies in invoices to determine the accuracy of charges
*Preparing Journals with correct nominal coded and VAT code
*Reconciling bank accounts on a weekly basis
*Providing support for month-end closure ensuring all client reconciliations are completed within agreed deadlines
*Supporting the team with queries related to income return reconciliations
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Keeping up to date with developments across the business
*Collaborating with other teams plus provide support to Finance Manager.
*Assisting with other ad-hoc requirements and projects commensurate with the role.
Desirable skills and experience
*AAT qualified / Part qualified ACCA or CIMA
*5+ years’ experience in a finance related role in a medium sized business
*Previous management accounts experience
*Experience of assisting in the production of statutory, management reports and accounts
*Experience of analysing large volumes of data
*Advanced level in Excel (Pivot table, Sorting, Filtering, Deduplication, VLOOKUP, Match, SumIf, Sumifs, Sumproduct, etc.)
*Ability to prioritise a busy workload and to remain calm under pressure
*Confident to work independently plus able to work in a team environment.
*Fluent in written and verbal English with a good telephone manner
*Diligence and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
*Performance-driven and results orientated working to achieve all deadlines
*Confident and proactive in communicating with people at all levels and working as part of the team
*Previous experience in SAGE (50/200/Intacct) is desirable
