Job Description:
A growing and forward thinking accountancy practice based in Bury is expanding and looking to add an experienced Bookkeeper to the team. The firm specialises in providing bookkeeping and management accounting support to a range of established businesses across the North West.
In this role, you’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, ensuring their bookkeeping and financial records are accurate, compliant and delivered on time. You’ll work closely with the Bookkeeping Manager while having the autonomy to take ownership of your workload.
This is a varied role where you may work from the office, from home, or occasionally at client sites. Full equipment including a laptop will be provided, and a structured handover will ensure you’re set up for success.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
*Processing purchase and sales invoices using Sage and Xero
*Managing sales and purchase orders within accounting systems
*Completing bank reconciliations
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns
*Processing small monthly payrolls
*Ensuring key HMRC deadlines are consistently met
*Supporting clients with multi-currency transactions, multiple entities or departments where required
*Preparing accounts up to trial balance stage (advantageous)
*Maintaining accurate financial records and handling general accounts administration
What We’re Looking For
*AAT qualified or equivalent
*At least 3 years’ bookkeeping experience in a similar role
*Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
*Comfortable working independently and occasionally off-site
*Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
