Purpose of Job: Gardener
Gardener To support the delivery of plants to the horticultural maintenance service, within the Citys Parks, Nature reserves, gardens and green spaces.
To ensure duties are carried out in compliance with the relevant health and safety procedures in place within the service.


Main Duties/Responsibilities: Gardener
Gardener To support the delivery of plants to the Horticultural maintenance service within the Citys Parks, Nature reserves, gardens and green spaces, using a variety of propagation and production techniques.
To assist the parks team with a wide range of gardening and cleansing duties when required (planting schemes,shrub pruning,litter picking, emptying bins etc)
To carry out the day-to day production / maintenance of the plant stock including the application of chemical herbicides/ insecticides and driving Parks Vehicles when required.
To monitor the condition of the site and report problems using the internal procedures in place.
To ensure duties are carried out in compliance with the relevant health and safety procedures in place within the service.
To foster good customer care and public relations to engender pride in public open space.
To work outdoors in all reasonable weather conditions.
To attend any relevant training courses instructed by management.
To carry out any other reasonable duties allocated by management, commensurate with the post.
