1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School
Location: Wythenshawe
Job Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP / September Available
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
A well-regarded mainstream primary school in Wythenshawe is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. Working through a specialist education recruitment agency, this role offers the opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
The school prides itself on providing strong support for children with Special Educational Needs, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed both academically and socially.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils who require additional help accessing the curriculum. This may involve 1:1 support or small group work, helping pupils stay engaged, build confidence and develop important social and learning skills.
Key Duties*Supporting pupils with SEN such as autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs
*Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities
*Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom support
*Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
*Supporting pupils’ social development and emotional wellbeing
*Helping maintain a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For*Previous experience supporting children with additional needs (school experience desirable but not essential)
*A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
*Backgrounds in education, childcare, youth work, support work or care are highly valued
