The Role
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Financial Lines Underwriter to join their London underwriting team.
The role will focus on evaluating and onboarding delegated underwriting programmes across financial lines, working closely with MGAs, brokers and internal stakeholders to assess programme viability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate new delegated underwriting programme opportunities within financial lines
Analyse programme profitability, pricing structure and risk exposure
Provide technical underwriting expertise across Financial Lines risks (e.g. D&O, E&O, Cyber)
Support onboarding of new programmes and operational implementation
Collaborate with operations, finance, legal and compliance teams
Contribute to underwriting guidelines, coverage structures and pricing strategies
Support portfolio management and programme performance monitoring
Assist with reinsurance strategy and capital allocation
Experience & Knowledge
8+ years underwriting experience within Financial Lines
Strong understanding of delegated authority and MGA programmes
Experience within the London Market
Knowledge of underwriting profitability drivers and programme performance metrics
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
Skills
Strong technical underwriting and analytical capabilities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Commercial mindset with attention to detail
Comfortable working in a growth-focused and evolving environment
