Finance Manager - Gateshead - Part-Time or Full-Time Considered

A family-run business entering an exciting phase of growth are looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and help shape the future of the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and supported by two part-time team members, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied role, maintaining strong financial controls, improving processes, and supporting commercial decision-making.

The Role
As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:*Oversee daily finance operations, including banking, payment runs and reconciliations
*Produce monthly financial reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
*Support month-end routines and review financial performance with senior leaders
*Manage debtors and provide support with credit control
*Supervise two finance/admin team members
*Prepare information for year-end and complete VAT and statutory returns
*Maintain fixed asset and fleet records
*Manage payroll processes (in-house or outsourced) and ensure pension compliance
*Work with operational teams to resolve queries and support business decisions
*Contribute to system improvements and wider finance projects

The Person
*A self-motivated, proactive finance professional with a strong grasp of end-to-end finance
*Someone who enjoys working autonomously but is also a great team collaborator
*Experience within an SME or owner-managed business would be beneficial
*Strong understanding of commercial operations and a desire to contribute to future growth
*A candidate looking for stability and a long-term future within a small, supportive team
