Grounds Maintenance Operative - York (Temporary)£17 per hour | 24 hours per week | 6:00am - 3:30pm | Start ASAPWe are recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a respected contractor delivering services for local authorities, universities, and housing associations across York.

This is a temporary position, available for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
*Operating ride-on mowers
*Using strimmers, hedge cutters, and other grounds maintenance tools
*General horticultural tasks and outdoor maintenance
*Supporting a small, friendly team to maintain high-quality outdoor spaces

Requirements
*Basic DBS check - provided by Hays
*Experience in grounds maintenance
*Competent with mowers, strimmers, and hedge-cutting equipment
*Horticulture qualifications desired (but not essential)
*Ability to work outdoors in all weather
*Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
*Flexibility on working days (24 hours per week)

Shift Pattern
*6:00am - 3:30pm
*24 hours per week (Mon-Fri, flexible days)

Pay & Start
*£17 per hour
*Immediate start available
