Job Description:
Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team working with children and young people in a residential setting.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
About the Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also lead shifts, guide staff members and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities
*Leading shifts and supporting staff members during day-to-day operations
*Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children are protected from harm
*Providing nurturing care that supports emotional wellbeing and development
*Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people
*Supporting care planning and attending professional meetings
*Encouraging positive behaviour and using de-escalation techniques
*Maintaining accurate records and reports
*Supporting children with education, health and daily living skills
*Working in partnership with professionals including social workers and education providers
*Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the home
*Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
Requirements
Essential
*Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
*Experience working with children and young people
*Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
*Excellent communication and leadership skills
*Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
*Previous experience in a senior residential role
*Knowledge of trauma-informed care
*Understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards
