About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Assistant to join a busy and supportive finance team within a Croydon-based school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial administration skills who is looking to take the next step in their career within the education sector.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the school’s financial operations, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider school leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
*Support day-to-day finance operations including processing invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
*Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
*Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
*Maintain financial records in line with audit requirements and school policies.
*Process staff expenses, reconcile accounts, and maintain financial databases.
*Liaise with suppliers, budget holders, and internal school teams.
*Support budget monitoring and provide financial reporting as required.
*Ensure compliance with DfE and local authority financial regulations.
*Provide guidance to junior finance staff when needed.
