Are you a science graduate with a passion for supporting education? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Oldham.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of a dynamic science department, providing essential support to both teachers and students. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Key Responsibilities:*Preparing and setting up materials and equipment for practical science lessons

*Assisting teachers during practical experiments where necessary

*Maintaining and cleaning laboratory equipment and apparatus

*Ensuring safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological specimens

*Managing stock levels and placing orders as required

*Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines and supporting risk assessments

Requirements:*A degree in a science-related subject is essential - applicants without a science degree will not be considered

*Previous experience in a school laboratory or similar environment is desirable but not essential

*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

*A proactive and collaborative approach to working with staff and students

*An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to undergo one

This role is to start immediately, with an initial daily pay rate of £100 to £110, depending on experience. It is a fantastic opportunity for a recent science graduate looking to gain school-based experience, or for someone with a scientific background seeking a rewarding role in education.
