Job Description:
An outstanding opportunity has arisen within this highly regarded Investment firm with circa $60Bil of AUM for an experience Investment professional to join their Public Markets Team. You will be responsible for supporting senior investment team members in public markets research activities across a range of asset classes including global equities, fixed income and commodities. The team manages the firm’s Public Markets investment program across external manager relationships and direct investments with the primary goal of to deliver high absolute and relative returns over the long-term by partnering with of top-tier managers and select direct investments.
Role & Responsibilities
*The primary goal of the Public Markets Research Team is to deliver high absolute and relative returns over the long-term by partnering with of top-tier managers and select direct investments.
*Support rigorous and comprehensive due diligence of asset managers and other direct investment opportunities.
*Stress-test the manager’s assumptions and develop an independent view of the merits of the investment, particularly in the context of the manager’s mandate, skill and experience.
*Meeting with managers, quantitative analysis of portfolios and performance, qualitative assessments of team, investment process and research quality, and external referencing and triangulation.
*Produce detailed written investment presentation for discussion among the team and with the Internal Investment Committee.
*Lead ongoing diligence and monitoring of investment managers and opportunities, including formal quarterly and annual reporting processes.
*Conduct ongoing research on core investment themes.
Background & Experience
*Deep understanding and passion for investing and markets.
*Approximately 6-8 years of experience in a manager due diligence role or relevant experience in direct investing.
*Undergraduate degree with a strong track record of academic achievement (preferred) or equivalent relevant work experience.
*High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
*Experience in public markets and/or absolute return investment strategies preferred.
*Prior allocator experience strongly preferred.
*Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment.
*Intellectually curious and a team player who is willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of the business.
