Job Description:
Mill Operative – Multispecies Animal Feed Mill
Location: Murton, York
Pay: £17.00 per hour + Overtime paid at 1.5x
Shifts: 12-hour shifts (rotating days & nights)
Elevation Recruitment are currently working with a well-established and growing production business in the animal feed sector, who are looking to add a reliable and hardworking Mill Operative to their team. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced environment with long-term stability and opportunities to progress.
The RoleThis is a hands-on position within a busy multispecies feed mill, combining control room operations with shop floor duties. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient production of high-quality animal feed.
Key Responsibilities*Operating and monitoring production processes via control room systems
*Loading raw materials and handling finished products
*Supporting batching, mixing, and pelleting processes
*Carrying out routine equipment checks and reporting faults
*Assisting with raw material intake and product bagging
*Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
*Following all health & safety and quality procedures
*Accurately completing production records
*Supporting general mill operations as required
What We’re Looking For*Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
*Able to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
*Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
*Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
*Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy industrial environment
Desirable (Not Essential)*FLT licence
*Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or feed mill environment
*Experience with automated or PLC-controlled systems
