About the Role
We’re recruiting an Outdoor Plant Area Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded garden retail business at its flagship Chelsea site.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you’ll take full responsibility for the outdoor plant area, overseeing team performance, commercial success, and day-to-day operations. You’ll play a key part in the wider management team, acting as second in command and supporting the overall running of the store.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead the day-to-day running of the outdoor plant area, including shrubs, bedding, and outdoor pots

*Manage, motivate, and develop the outdoor team

*Oversee stock control, purchasing, and merchandising to maximise sales and availability

*Drive sales performance against targets, contributing to overall business success

*Ensure excellent customer service, responding to enquiries and maintaining strong relationships

*Maintain high standards of plant care, presentation, and department upkeep

*Support wider store operations as second in command, deputising where required

*Ensure compliance with health & safety and company policies



What We’re Looking For
*Strong horticultural knowledge, particularly within outdoor plants

*Proven retail experience, ideally within a garden centre environment

*Leadership capability, with experience managing and developing teams

*Commercial mindset with an understanding of sales, stock, and performance

*Excellent communication and organisational skills

*Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round
