Houseplant Supervisor
Location: London (SW3)
Salary: Competitive (DOE)
Hours: Full-time
About the Role
We’re recruiting a Houseplant Supervisor to join a well-established and highly regarded garden retail business in Chelsea.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll take the lead within the houseplant department, acting as the first point of contact for customers. You’ll combine strong plant knowledge with a commercial mindset, helping customers choose the right products while driving sales and delivering an excellent retail experience.
Working closely with the wider team, you’ll ensure the department is consistently well-presented, fully stocked, and operating efficiently, with increasing responsibility for ordering and stock management over time.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the day-to-day running of the houseplant department, ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and availability
*Deliver excellent customer service, offering expert advice and creating a welcoming shopping experience
*Drive sales performance, working towards weekly, monthly, and annual targets
*Manage and maintain stock levels, including supporting with ordering, deliveries, and supplier coordination
*Create visually appealing and commercially effective displays to maximise sales
*Monitor plant health and minimise waste through strong maintenance and care practices
*Handle customer enquiries, orders, and deliveries with strong organisation and communication
*Ensure all processes, policies, and administrative tasks are followed accurately
What We’re Looking For
*Strong retail and sales focus, with the ability to engage customers and maximise opportunities
*Solid horticultural knowledge, particularly with indoor plants and plant care
*Excellent customer service skills - friendly, approachable, and professional
*Highly organised, with strong admin and communication abilities
*Good merchandising and display skills; a creative eye is a strong advantage
*Proactive and self-motivated, with the confidence to suggest improvements and new ideas
*Previous experience in a similar retail or supervisory role is preferred
