Vehicle Technician
*Hourly Rate: £21.18 via Umbrella (£17.12 via PAYE)
*Location: Barnsley
*Job Type: Full-time, Temp
We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining municipal fleet assets to meet statutory and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will provide professional advice on vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Inspect, repair, and maintain municipal fleet assets to comply with all relevant statutory and regulatory bodies.
*Provide professional advice and guidance to service users regarding vehicle maintenance and repair.
*Perform manual and physically demanding work associated with the repair and maintenance of the municipal fleet.
*Ensure the Health & Safety of all resources within your area of responsibility.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures impacting service delivery.
*Prepare and present detailed results from complex diagnostic equipment.
*Continuously review and evaluate service provision to ensure it is fit for purpose and drives continuous improvement.
*Contribute to policy development and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers and the public.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Must hold a Cat C driving licence, Cat D1 driving licence, DCPC card, and digital tachograph card.
*Proven experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
*Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
*Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
*Commitment to continuous improvement and quality service provision.
