Job Description:
6 month contract - Asset Management
Inside IR35
Key responsibilities
§ Act as a strategic interface between business units and technology teams, ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals and technically feasible.
§ Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and colleagues to elicit, refine, and communicate evolving requirements in a business-focused manner.
§ Facilitate and support discussions within multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex or challenging dynamics effectively.
§ Collaborate with project managers and delivery leads by regularly assessing the progress and effectiveness of discovery and analysis activities, taking action as needed to meet agreed timelines and quality standards.
§ Create artefacts that support agile delivery, such as user stories with acceptance criteria (e.g. in JIRA).
§ Maintain high-quality repositories of business knowledge and documentation using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
§ Communicate effectively within agile delivery frameworks to support development teams and ensure shared understanding of requirements.
§ Identify and document risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact the successful delivery of requirements.
§ Contribute to the development of sustainable, commercially viable change solutions that support Asset Management goals across the full delivery lifecycle (discovery, analysis/design, build, test, and business readiness).
§ Share knowledge and promote learning across the Business Analyst community and wider teams.
What we’re looking for
Essential
· Working in the banking, pensions and finance / asset management industry and highly regulated environments.
· Experience with gathering and interpret business process and technical requirements and creating detailed process maps (as is and to be)
· Understanding of the key concepts of data platforms, warehouses/lakes
· Experience working with Investment Management platforms covering both capital markets and policyholder e.g. Cloud Data Platforms (e.g. AWS or Snowflake)
· Familiar with Order Management Systems (e.g. Aladdin)
· Relevant experience working as part of an agile team - end to end i.e. discovery, analysis/design, build, test and business readiness
· Experience engaging with third party vendors and collaborating on joint technology solutions
· Great stakeholder management and engagement skills
· Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills, in particular for problem solving and troubleshooting activities, ability to communicate effectively in a technical and non-technical ways.
· Ability to demonstrate resilience, flexibility and adapt to changing schedules and priorities
Delivery Experience
· Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tooling to support agile delivery of projects (e.g. Jira/Confluence)
· Experience in writing user stories and managing product backlogs.
· Experience in working closely with developers to translate the business neds into design specifications (e.g. interface specifications or report specifications)
· Experience in modern ways of working (examples include Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Test Automation)
· Understanding of data concepts e.g. Data Management/Governance
· Understanding of architecture and design concepts for data exploitation solutions
· Experience using technologies includes Analytics (E.g. R & Python), Reporting (E.g. Quicksight, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) & APIs
· Demonstrable expertise in the areas of business analysis in large complex IT estates
Desirable
· Membership of a professional body
· Degree in Computer Science, Technology or Engineering or similar
